Soon after the information about using Java for homebrew on the PS3 comes a fully working version of Pong!

Coder “Freeplay” has released some code and instructions on building Java apps that can run on the PS3 without using the the OtherOS feature, utilising the BD-J feature available of Blu Ray disks. In theory this means that you’ll be able to run Java stuff from DVD/CD/Flash memory. It would appear that the PS3 won’t allow any filesystem access (no surprises there), but from browsing the instructions it all looks fairly straightforward.
